Hokkaido is home to some of Japan’s most pristine and untouched fly fishing waters. Eastern Hokkaido, including the Shiretoko region, offers crystal-clear rivers flowing from majestic mountains, pristine lakes, and remote streams that are home to wild trout. Species such as Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, White-spotted Char, and Yamame can all be pursued in their natural habitat. As more anglers around the world discover the unique fishing opportunities here, Hokkaido is steadily becoming one of the world’s most sought-after fly fishing destinations.

Our guide lives and fishes in Eastern Hokkaido year-round. We don’t just follow popular spots—we choose the best rivers and lakes based on current conditions, weather, and fish activity.
Over 90% of our guests come from English-speaking countries. While we are not fluent English speakers, we communicate confidently using simple English and translation tools to ensure smooth and enjoyable trips.
What matters most to us is not perfect English—it’s providing the best possible fishing experience and genuine hospitality. From your first inquiry to the end of your trip, we’ll do everything we can to make you feel comfortable, supported, and welcome in Hokkaido.
Many of our returning guests tell us that our passion, local knowledge, and dedication matter far more than perfect language skills. We believe great fishing experiences go beyond words.
Every trip is private or limited to a small group, allowing us to tailor the experience to your goals, skill level, and preferred fishing style.
Whether you’re casting a fly rod for the first time or looking for technical fishing with dry flies, nymphing, or Spey casting, we customize each trip to match your experience.
No two days are the same in Hokkaido. We select the destination and target species based on the latest conditions to give you the best chance of an unforgettable day on the water.
Accommodation is completely optional. While HOTEL BOTH in Shiretoko is our recommended base, you’re welcome to stay wherever you prefer. Whether you choose our accommodation or another hotel, we’re happy to provide the same level of support, including fishing guidance, transportation, and local travel advice to help you enjoy your time in Hokkaido.
We believe the best fishing trips include more than catching fish. Experience Hokkaido’s untouched nature, wildlife, local food, sauna, and unforgettable landscapes while creating memories that last a lifetime.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced angler, we’ll create the best fishing plan to match your skill level and goals. We also offer beginner-friendly fishing experiences for those who simply want to enjoy fishing during their trip. Please feel free to contact us for details.
Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests due to seasonal conditions, weather, or availability.

Our guide service operates across Eastern Hokkaido, Tokachi, and Northern Hokkaido, with Shiretoko as our main base.
We carefully select the best fishing locations based on the season, weather, water conditions, and target species to provide the best possible experience.
Please note: Due to the travel distance, trips to the Tokachi and Northern Hokkaido areas may have limited availability. Please contact us in advance to discuss your plans and confirm availability.
■For cancellations on the day before or on the day of the trip due to customer reasons, 100% of the fee will be charged.
■For trips canceled by our decision, 100% of the payment will be refunded.
*If you have requested multiple dates, in the unlikely event that service cannot be provided due to bad weather or other reasons on any of the dates, the total guide fee will be divided by the number of days, and the portion corresponding to the days when service could not be provided will be refunded. Please note that accommodation costs are not included in this refund.
All guided fishing trips are catch-and-release only. We kindly ask that all fish be released and not taken home.
Our guide service is covered by liability insurance. However, we strongly recommend that all guests purchase their own travel and outdoor activity insurance before joining the tour.
Your safety is our highest priority. As this is an outdoor activity in remote natural environments, all guests must follow the guide’s instructions at all times. If a guest refuses to follow safety instructions, the guide reserves the right to end the trip immediately without a refund.
The rivers and lakes we guide are valuable natural resources enjoyed by local anglers and visitors alike. In recent years, some fishing locations have experienced increased pressure due to social media exposure.
To help protect these fisheries, we ask guests not to share photos or videos that reveal specific fishing locations. Before the tour begins, you will be asked to agree to this policy.
Guided trips may be cancelled or ended early due to heavy rain, flooding, unsafe river conditions, or severe weather.
Accommodation cancellations are subject to the accommodation’s cancellation policy. Please review it before making your reservation.
Fishing takes place in the natural environment, and weather conditions can change unexpectedly—even after you arrive in Hokkaido. Please review our cancellation policy before booking.
While our guides will do everything possible to provide you with an unforgettable fishing experience, we cannot guarantee that fish will be caught. Fishing conditions vary depending on weather, water levels, and the natural behavior of wild fish.
By making a reservation, you acknowledge and accept these conditions.
